General Information
The mid-range Galapagos cruises are the most popular and represent the best mixture of value for money and comfortable adventure travel. All mid-range ships are very personal and offer space for no more than 14 to 20 passengers.
Facilities
On a mid-range cruise vessel you are likely to find cabins with twin or double beds and private bathrooms, with more space than on a budget class ship. Cabins may be below the waterline, in which case you may have small porthole windows, or above decks in which case you will have larger windows or portholes.

The decor on mid-range Galapagos cruise ships will be tasteful and usually modern. You will find more communal space on a mid-range Galapagos ship than on a budget cruise ship, and you can expect to find sun decks and possible al fresco dining areas, as well as plenty of comfortable seating and loungers.
When it comes to food, a mid-range Galapagos cruise will offer a varied menu of international and local dishes, often served in informal buffet style. The food will be of good restaurant quality. You may also find that your boat has some extras such as kayaks for guests to use, paddle boards, or complimentary snorkel gear.
Activities
All cruises in Galapagos operate with itineraries that are fixed and approved by the National Park. Cruises will offer a range of land-based and water-based activities that you will enjoy at least once – generally twice – a day at various points of interests including:
- Snorkeling (from ship or beaches)
- Panga rides (the local name for the small boats that transfer you from ship to shore, or used to explore the mangroves)
- Kayaking
- Diving (on ships with diving itineraries)
- Land excursions (including hiking trails, visitor centers, drives to inland sites, time relaxing on beaches, etc)
- Naturalist presentations. These usually take place every evening – on board the bigger ships also with help of microscopes
All detailed information about itinerary, visited islands and activities will be sent with your personalized offer.
