Highlights
This Eco-Lodge, named Sani Lodge, is situated 80km downstream the Napo River and is 100% managed by the Indigenous community. It is located in a region of 42,000 hectares (103,784 acres) of untouched primary rainforest and shares borders with Yasuní National Park. This area is rich in biodiversity and free from petrol drilling and African palm oil plantations. Saved from deforestation, it exists in a pristine, untouched state.
Getting there
The Lodge is situated next to a beautiful black water lagoon that invites guests to explore birds and mammals from a paddle canoe. Sunsets over the lagoon are stunning and different every day.
The journey to the Lodge starts in Coca town. A representative of the Lodge will wait for you at the airport or bus terminal in Coca town and transport you to the port of Coca (five-minute drive). From here you enjoy a two- to three- hour motorized canoe ride down the Napo River. Reaching the access point to the Lodge, you take your first steps into the rainforest on a ten-minute walk on a wooden boardwalk, leading to a smaller paddle canoe and the final stretch to the Lodge. Relax during a 20-minute ride through a small jungle stream that leads to a beautiful lagoon and ends at the dock of the Lodge.
Facilities
The Lodge provides a fully equipped bar and a restaurant, serving three-course meals three times a day. The Lodge has a total of 13 private cabins, each equipped with a queen-size bed and a single bed with a maximum capacity of three guests. All cabins have their own private bathroom and hot water shower, made with solar energy. Cabins have recently been renovated.

Why Sani Lodge?
We selected Sani Lodge for our portfolio as it has a strong commitment for the cultivation of the Rainforest. With the Lodge, the local Community is able to finance transportation, medicine, education and the women’s project. We also like how they show the real way of live in the community without creating artificial show-dances or similar. Also, are the neighbor communities already affected by palm-oil plantations; supporting this lodge means supporting the rainforest from deforestation.
